Wasn't sure which thread to post this in, because it's a problem that has followed me through 3 different AOKP builds for grouper (SmoothRom 5.2, Latest AOKP nightly, and now Buttered Grouper) . About 50% of the time I don't have any of the System UI (navbar, status bar, wallpaper, app menu, etc.) The Rom runs really slow and laggy, then al of a sudden everything comes back and it returns to being a smooth kick-ass AOKP build again. However if I make any customization to the UI (like in Rom Control) it will disappear again. It also likes to disappear after a restart. Sometimes it only lasts a couple minutes, but sometimes it lasts all day and I have to use the dang powerscreen buttons to navigate around the rom all day, heh. Any help would be appreciated!

Nope, just the Dark AOKP toggle.

Here you go. It might help you to know that the systemUI had returned briefly, then to recreate the issue I went into Rom Control and made a change to something. I forget exactly what the change was to trigger the bug, but I believe it was changing the UI mode Phablet to Tablet, or maybe Phone.

Someone on another forum described my issue exactly, so I know it's not just me.

Thanks for checking it out!

Did you do a clean flash of the ROM?

Switching certain feature in RomControl will trigger a SystemUI restart.

Yep, full wipes, about 6 of them now. I used JRom flasher once just for good measure, and another time I even wiped the sdcard.

It's got to be one of my apps that's messing things up, right?

My system ui likes to force close on my xt912 and nexus 7 a lot of the time when i use the kill all button in the recents menu. Some times it doesn't come back. Not sure if related or not but..

Have you installed too many (like more than 300) apps?
Similar situation happens to me if there are too many apps installed.

At first I thought it's a problem specifically for Xylon, after a lot of experiments I found out that every AOKP related rom has similar problem.

My phone has over 100, but my tablet is hovering around 30 so it's not a large number of apps problem for me.
