Bouncing back and forth between ose & aokp, still not seeing a lot of differences with ose and 4.4 vs aokp 4.3.1. Starting to wonder what the hoo-haa is.
After reading these posts about OSE I tried it out. It has most of the same options as AOKP. I have 3 reasons I eventually restored back to AOKP 4.2.2.
1. I use the nav bar and I always flash the AOKP key mod zip to deactivate the capacitive buttons. I did this on OSE and could no longer wake the phone with the home button which is a real killer for me. I found an option that I thought would fix this, but I think the zip broke the functionality.
2. The only way I could find to use the transparent status bar and Nav bar was to use the new stock launcher, which lacks all of the rest of my favorite features of nova.
3. I found the ROM to be MUCH less responsive than AOKP. Laggy and slow in general.
Now maybe I couldn't find the right settings for some of these things and a kernel change might fix the speed, But Id much rather have me some AOKP 4.4!
