I did:
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot flash recovery
Boots just fine thru the bootloader to recovery now :)
Edit...
WOW...can u tell I'm late to the game? Lmao
Instead of relashing recovery you should be able to enter recovery from the bootloader if it is attached to a computer via the USB cable. I think this is a bug that is being worked on.

I've since learned of this bugger
Also found that a quick work around for now is to get an OTG cable, plug That into my Gnex, then plug nexus 7 into other end, and boot recovery from the boot loader will work :)

Thank you so much poitee !
I bought a Nexus 7 mainly for this kernel and its USB Audio capability (to use with an iBasso D10 DAC/amp), and it works :)
Still have to reboot to switch between DAC and internal speaker but this is not a big issue.
I also tried cifs, usb hub and usb stick mount, everything works perfectly.
I'd like to donate a few buck$, but the link on the first page doesn't work.
Anyone aware of a kernel / firmware that has the same USB audio capability for Galaxy S2 ?
Hey, what ROM are you using, curiously? I'll be trying to do the same to see if I can get my O2/ODAC recognized.

I know that JDS Labs builds ODACs with RCA outputs if you really need one. But why can't you use any DAC with a 3.5mm output and use a simple 3.5mm-to-RCA adapter ?

I am wondering if your ODAC is connected to your custom Nexus 7 via a USB OTG cable:

Yes, I'm using a USB OTG cable, so it "should" work from everything I've read.

Could you provide a dmesg output so that it can be compared to the dmesg output from a Galaxy S III interworking with an ODAC?
