What are you using for steering wheel controls? If your car stereo can take optical input you can use Advantage Micro 2 to get a digital optical out of the N7

Well my idea may have run into a huge issue. I need to be able to use USB OTG and charge the tablet at the same time. I dont think thats possible currently.

My idea for the steering wheel controls were to use a Arduino and the AOA 2.0 spec to emulate a USB HID device. But I recently found a device called the JoyCon that does exactly that and is really easy to set up. I have ordered one and am waiting for it to get to my house.

I havent found any car amp that will accept an optical input. I either need a DAC that does RCA or use the 3.5mm and run it through an equalizer

I don't think there is a way to charge and use OTG, that is why google is using its own way of doing usb audio which will allow charging. You have two options, wait for a DAC that works with google's usb audio similar to the Gear4 dock or make your own DIY OTG cable that has a switch to go from OTG to normal usb as seen in this video... For now I think I will make a switch and flip it over to charge when I'm not in the car, just hope I don't kill my car battery doing this :/

Reboot into recovery and flash back to your backup try pushing both volume up and down and power should force a reboot and then power and volume down I think ...lol

I am not sure, but hopefully the Nexus 7 conforms to the http://www.usb.org/d...harging_1.2.pdf USB Charging Spec 1.1 or 1.2. Look at Section 6. This defines a Accessory Charging Adapter. Basically, you can charge the device while still leaving it in USB Host Mode.

Thanks man. If it helps you identify the problem easier, it actually booted once, but there were repeating FC's all over the place, I couldn't even unlock the device because force closes were piling up everywhere. The two that I remember were phone and systemUI I think. Didn't think to grab a logcat =( After I rebooted I got stuck at boot logo and had to flash a different kernel.
I get the exact same problem with this kernel. I can't even get back into cwr from the bootloader. I have even tried reflashing the recovery but it is still a no go. For the moment I got a nice paperweight...

Update: For more information, When I pick recovery I just get the Google logo and it never moves past that.

Hop on http://chat.andirc.net and join #n7 for help

As for this kernel, I've flashed each iteration without issue on the stock rom.

I had this issue(not flashed this kernel tho) yesterday.
I did:
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot flash recovery
Boots just fine thru the bootloader to recovery now :)

Edit...
WOW...can u tell I'm late to the game? Lmao

Hi,

Thank you so much poitee !
I bought a Nexus 7 mainly for this kernel and its USB Audio capability (to use with an iBasso D10 DAC/amp), and it works :)
Still have to reboot to switch between DAC and internal speaker but this is not a big issue.
I also tried cifs, usb hub and usb stick mount, everything works perfectly.

I'd like to donate a few buck$, but the link on the first page doesn't work.

Anyone aware of a kernel / firmware that has the same USB audio capability for Galaxy S2 ?
