Hey everyone,

With some edits of cm9 source i managed to get softkeys backlight working.

I have only tested it on cm9 but it should work on MIUI and maybe AOKP.

Just installed on aeroevan cm9, and WOW. They're as good as stock rotation. I haven't seen any bugs yet. Thank you so much!

Edit: Upon further use I really can't recommend this patch, when I unlock the phone the buttons flicker then don't light up at all until I touch one of them and wait a few seconds. I can't possibly see how you can call this a "fix". I'm running Aeroevan's 5/4 build, maybe it works better on other ones.

that is because surface-flinger executes aeroevan's script, what my fix is based on, at irregular intervals (havent figured out the pattern yet). I will try to fix the problem in the source next instead of making a script

After a long look at the cm9 source i managed to get buttons backlight fully working. In my opinion its still a hack but at least it makes the backlight work as it should. I have only tested it on cm9 but it should work on AOKP and MIUI. For cm9 users it fixes the backlight turning off after a few seconds problem.

Sorry for sounding like such a noob but, how do I apply this? Through the APPLY UPDATE FROM SDCARD in CWM or INSTALL ZIP FROM SDCARD or something else? I would really like to try this.
