I am with you on this one Doc. I have always had excellent GPS with no HW fix and really good battery life as well (even though that was mostly operator but there has to be something hardware with it too). Only problems I have had were always self-inflicted.

The new upload has the sZ build159 version with the ramdisk compatible with both RIL types. There's a new MD5 in case you wonder which version of 1.8.5 you have, and I also took off that underscore I didn't delete from the original zip's filename.

Theres also a pretty damn badass new logo made by N00B, thanks broski!

I'm with you guys on the SuperVibe theory. 90% of issues I just don't see or haven't seen, ever, knock on wood. The only real fix I ever felt the need to do was the hardware GPS fix, which didn't even help with Froyo, but for some unknown reason, my GPS is dead on with ICS. Makes it hard for me to troubleshoot a lot of things, that right there makes this knowledgeable, helpful set of peoples we have over here an asset to what we do. We couldn't do it without the support of everyone who has offered help in these threads.

But I digress, Woody, good luck with the self eval man. I was always good at creative writing, my boss had me write my own job description last year, and I made it sound like I run the place, lol. I was gonna put up a mirror to MediaFire as well. Goo seems to be working fine again, but I know they have bandwidth and server space issues, they are trying to upgrade, just need some more support from the community themselves to keep up with the demand. If you do throw one up, I'll post it in the OP, thanks dude, and again, good luck, and godspeed.

Anyone experiencing very laggy & inconsistent WiFi performance (on ICZ #1.8.5 + SZ #159-VC)?

This same issue I had on 1.8.4 (which I downloaded from 3 separate devices and flashed 3 separate times, lol) is back for me on 1.8.5 - ie. WiFi slows to a crawl at almost dial-up speeds. I've resorted to toggling it on/off as I use it but get the same slow speeds.

I did fully wipe & format sys before flashing 1.8.5. Also all my other WiFi devices are working fine (ie. not a router issue).

As with most of the little quirks I seem to encounter, I have a feeling I'm probably the odd man out here (yet again, lol). Maybe I have a #4 Vibe - ie. damned if you do & damned if you don't.

Yosup, compare your Wi-Fi with SZ and blast Devil's. DL Devil's configuration apk from the G.Play and see if there's an improvement.If not then move around your modem and router... I had an improvement by separating my modem and router along with keeping it away from interference i.e. TV, Stereo, Power Sources,etc
Also go into your router settings and change channels. Most default at channel 7 or 9 which causes interference with your neighbours

Never had any issues with Zen. Factory reset / formatted system and flashed 1.8.5. No issues whatsoever. Wifi , data,GPS it all works. Very snappy and fast on stock cpu settings. Great rom Br1ckd and MP you guys are fawking the shizzzzz

Good tips, but I've got 2 other WiFi devices sitting next to me. WiFi performance is normal on those, so I know it's not the router.

Tried #1.8.5 with SZ #159-VC, Devil 0.79-VC, & even back to SZ #144-VC ... all the same (no difference in WiFi speeds).

I ran into this same issue before when trying 1.8.4 / #159-VC. The only thing that corrected it was reverting back to 1.8.3. I'll mess with this some more later, but my post-EU #4 Vibe is SOL for upgrading above 1.8.3 it sadly seems.

Worst case, I sit at 1.8.3 ... until ZJ "pops off" (that was for you, Woodman). :D

Short of Odin'ing to stock (which I still may try later), I reverted back to 1.8.3 (#39) & #144-VC for now. This combo (for my particular #4 Vibe) is bar-none THE fastest Vibrant experience I've ever had. I'm unfortunately regressing, but it's more like downgrading from a Ferrari ... to well ... another Ferrari. Life is still Zen on the 2yo Tmo. :D
