Mod Type:: Kernel

Difficulty:: Very Easy

Mod Status:: Stable

Apply In:: CWM Recovery

Android Version:: 4.0.3 (ICS)

Codename Android Kernel:

This is the kernel that is built and included in the codename android ROM located here.
Per user requests I have created a thread to post releases of incremental builds of the kernel we make for the ROM. This also moves the kernel conversation to this thread (about this kernel) instead of the ROM thread.

For those of you that are confused because my name is Blueharford and not Codenameandroid... I am the kernel dev for the codename android mod, codenameandroid is the dev for the rom. If you have any questions regarding the connection... PM me..

Current version: 1.8.1

kernel base is built off of 4.0.3 kernel source code.

Starting base Savaged-Zen Kernel Please refer to that thread for base specs

Source code:

Installation instructions:
* Wipe Dalvik Cache
* Flash Kernel
* Reboot

Is 1.3.0 different than the 1.0.2+ that is included with CNA rom? I am assuming it is, guess I am just curious as to what the + is for.

Im just about to flash the latest codename rom and Im wondering is it recommended to use this kernel while on Codename or does it not matter if I were to use the minimalistic kernel? Basically, are there any advantages to using this kernel while on codename?

Thanks

Its personal preference. This kernel is meant to be built around CNA, so in theory it should have the best performance for the Rom.

No harm in flashing it and see what you like best.

Does this version use the same kernel developer as 1.2.0? That was a great match. I tried four of the most popular kernels and your custom kernel indeed out performed them with your rom.
