Guidelines to ensure success & avoid public humiliation
  • This thread is only about fastbooting files. Not recovery & especially not Rom Manager.
  • Verify md5sums. If they're not correct don't flash.
  • Have a GREAT charge to ensure that your phone doesn't go dead.
  • Results may vary. Experiences with radios can be wildly different from user to user.
  • Never battery/USB pull if you think you managed to screw this up.
  • If you do screw this up it is your fault & you should be ashamed.
  • If you are doing this then you have no warranty.
  • If you have suddenly experienced 4G loss but at one time you had it on your new combination then it is probably an outage. That means do not inform us of 4G outages in this thread.
Notes about radios
  • You do not have to pair the LTE & CDMA radios. People have been mixing & matching them lately experimenting with different combinations.
  • 4.0.1 & 4.0.2 have the same LTE radio.
  • Radios are not ICS version dependent.
  • Radios titled CDMA are the 3G radios. The ones without are LTE.
  • Bootloaders do not effect radios.
  • All of these are for CDMA Galaxy Nexus aka Toro.
  • None are for the GSM Galaxy Nexus aka Maguro.
  • It can take a while to flash a radio. Sometimes a couple of minutes. Do not freak out & start posting that it has frozen or pull the battery or USB. Just walk away after entering the command.
Instructions
How to flash LTE radios with fastboot:
  • Boot into bootloader
  • Enter this command into terminal/command prompt:
fastboot flash radio name-of-radio.img
(replace "name-of-radio.img" with actual img name)

How to flash CDMA radios with fastboot:
  • First boot into bootloader
  • Then enter this command into terminal/command prompt:
fastboot flash radio-cdma name-of-cdma-radio.img
(replace "name-of-cdma-radio.img" with actual img name)

Bootloaders

Notes about bootloaders
  • You do not have to use a bootloader to use a certain radio. I only include them for ease of access.
  • Bootloaders do not affect radio performance. I'm not really sure why anyone would change them.
  • Bootloaders are compatible with any current version of ICS.
  • Bootloaders can change what is displayed as your HW Revision. For instance 4.0.1's bootloader makes it display 8 & 4.0.2's will display 9. I have no idea if that number affects anything. I highly doubt it does.
  • It can take a while to flash a bootloader. Sometimes a couple of minutes. Do not freak out & start posting that it has frozen or pull the battery or USB. Just walk away after entering the command.
Instructions
How to flash bootloader with fastboot:
  • Boot into bootloader
  • Enter this command into terminal/command prompt:
fastboot flash bootloader name-of-bootloader.img
(replace "name-of-bootloader.img" with actual img name)

Notes about recoveries
  • Flashing a recovery through Rom Manager can be problematic & I personally refuse to use it. The biggest problem with RM is that it always says success regardless of outcome. That sucks.
  • You can always get the latest ClockworkMod.img from the ClockworkMod site.
  • As updated & non-CWM recoveries appear I will post them here.
  • I am not going to post all the stock recoveries.
  • It can take a while to flash a recovery. Sometimes a couple of minutes. Do not freak out & start posting that it has frozen or pull the battery or USB. Just walk away after entering the command.
Instructions
How to flash a recovery with fastboot:
  • Boot into bootloader
  • Enter this command into terminal/command prompt:
fastboot flash recovery name-of-recovery.img
(replace "name-of-recovery.img" with actual img name)

Has anyone tried flashing back to the 4.0.1 radio to see if its better than the 4.0.3? I have noticed a slight difference for the better with the 4.0.3 over the 4.0.2 in my area.
