On phone: Settings->Applications(Enable Unknown sources)->Development->Enable USB Debugging.
Install Framaroot.apk, launch it and select "Gimli", reboot phone.
Install Droid2RecoveryBootstrap_CWM5.0.2.0.apk, launch it, select "Bootstrap Recovery", grant Superuser access and reboot phone.
Download twrp_2.7_cm11_dx.zip, latest gapps (3-22 or newer) and ROM to sdcard.
Reboot phone into CWM Recovery or if you on stock firmware launch Droid X Bootstrapper and press "Reboot Recovery".
In CWM choose wipe data/factory reset (this will completely delete all your data on phone except sdcard), then install zip from sdcard and select twrp_2.7_cm11_dx.zip.
Reboot system.
In TWRP choose Install and select ROM, then slide, then make the same with gapps.
You are blazing through a lot of work in a very short amount of time. We're very excited to have KitKat on our old Xs. You're doing a great job as well as a great service.
I've been running this ROM for about 2 days. Thus far everything works and it's very smooth. The lock screen is outstanding; it's very configurable and interfaces well with the music app.
It still has some hot reboot issues; however, it's rebooting less today than it was yesterday. I'll keep it running through Monday to see if it settles down as it settles in.

Noticed in the latest (03/29) build that gps is no longer working. Never finds any satelites. Also, the light sensor is not working. Gps worked until the last two builds, light sensor has never worked.
Both test apps show 0 lux. Guess my sensor is bad. No big deal either way. Thanks for breathing new life into my old DX, even though it's now just an mp3 and video player.

Hello everyone. I am new to this forum. Thanks for all the great work. I have a rooted Droid X (confirmed with root checker) running CWM (backed up now -phew!) and am trying out some different ROMs. I just downloaded the latest of this ROM (Today, 3/31) and when using CWM and "Applying zip from SD card, it reports there is a problem with the zip file and aborts. The zip opens and decompresses on my Mac however. I recopied to the SD card, re-opened it and expanded it FROM the SD card, so I know the zip file is OK. Am I supposed to use the "Restore" function of CWM to apply the ROM? (I'm still kind of new to this but not to Linux.)
Thanks in advance guys. I want to help test out this ICS version!
In CWM choose wipe data/factory reset (this will completly delete all your data on phone except sdcard), then install zip from sdcard and select twrp_cm11_dx.zip.
Reboot system and immediately enter the bootmenu (press vol- on blue LED)
I meant a 4x version. I'm sounding like a real idiot here....
