If you are in windows, make sure to try all modes to install the drivers correctly, i.e. media sync, mass storage and everything else.

Make sure HTC sync is not installed and also that the phone is connected as charge only

Found out how if you are on linux!
Used this and this
Once finished, unplug and plugin device and run ./alpharevx and you should get the serial

If you use linux make sure to do this: Udev Rules For all devices.

the SU that is to be flashed through CWM keeps FCing every time an app (Root Explorer, etc.) attempts to ask for root. I solved this by downloading ChainsDD's Superuser from the Market, running it, then updating the binaries through the app. All is GOLD.

Or you could just link to the CyanogenMod Wiki which layouts the entire process, and without the need to hop around several different sites, link...
