You've been asking for them, and we've put together a little some-some-something to help you get them! For months now, forum members have been clamoring for a RootzWiki themed case for their Galaxy Nexus. Cruzerlite has heard that call, and thanks to them we've put together a little contest to answer you. So, without further ado... We are very proud to launch the "Design A RootzWiki Case And Win" contest in conjunction with Cruzerlite! Here's how it's going to work: RootzWiki will provide logos, graphics, images, and fonts that we use across our site. Using those (and any other NON-copyrighted material), you design a graphic that Cruzerlite will imprint on the back of a Galaxy Nexus case. We will accept submissions for two weeks (May 14th to May 28th). Once submissions are closed, the RootzWiki and Cruzerlite staff will select one winner's design to be made into a Galaxy Nexus case. The winner will be announced on Monday, June 4th. The image...

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is now official, the speculation has ended (except for an official U.S. announcement), and the official photos are now live . It’s safe to say that the Galaxy S3 is much more than an “incremental upgrade ” over last year’s flagship Galaxy S II, bringing several major hardware and software upgrades. It might even be worth it to (GASP!) keep the TouchWiz features rather than flashing a stock AOSP ROM.FeaturesThe official specs and features have been released for the international version, as follows:DisplaySuper AMOLED HD (sorry, we still have pentile)4.8” screen size, 1280 x 720 resolutionInternalsQuad-core 1.4 Ghz Exynos processor (no word on U.S. versions yet, but likely the Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor)1 GB RAM16 and 32 GB versions, 64 GB coming laterSupports MicroSD cards up to 64 GB2100 mAh batteryBasebands2.5G (GSM/ GPRS/ EDGE): 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz3G (HSPA＋ 21Mbps): 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 MHz4G LTE (Dependent on market)Camera8 MP rear cam...

The highly anticipated Google Drive is now officially out of the garage, so to speak (see the introductory video and start page here). While there are some great features that set it far apart from Dropbox and other cloud storage services, is the cloud storage market Google’s primary focus? What features are included with this new service? Does it integrate well into platforms widely used today? What concerns does this new service raise, and what flaws need to be addressed in the days to come?Native Support for Most PlatformsGoogle Drive provides native app support and integration into Windows, MacOS, and Android.
New Cyanogen Build Servers Online

Well, rooters and modders, it seems your contributions have paid off. Shortly after 3 AM (EST), Cyanogen announced on Twitter that the Cyanogenmod team has brought its new build servers online. According to the official blog, your contributions made it possible for the team to purchase three new Dell R610 servers capable of building CM9 in nine minutes. He also said Cyanogenmod would make another announcement "when nightly builds are being made for all targets on a predictable basis."

The new servers each contain two hexa-core Intel Xeon X5675 CPUs (12 cores total) and 32 GB of RAM, which makes for some beastly power. A scheduler should be set up in a few days "to automate the process of building every target", Cyanogen said. I have sent a message to Cyanogen seeking further comment. More to follow...

Some titles are already available, such as Hoosiers.Online Movie Viewing Eclipsing DVD/Blu-Ray?Obviously, Google is eager to compete in the rapidly expanding market for legal online movie watching. According to a Bloomberg article based on a recent study by IHS Screen Digest, online movie viewing is expected to eclipse DVD and Blu-Ray viewing this year. Google still has a long way to go, of course, to catch up to established powerhouses such as Apple’s iTunes, Amazon’s Instant Video, and Netflix, but the agreement with MGM is certainly a step in the right direction.Impact for Android UsersAndroid integ...

After the moderate success of the Toshiba Thrive, original Excite tablet, and the slightly thinner Thrive 7, Toshiba is continuing to expand the Excite line with 3 new stock ICS tablets. These new devices pack in the latest tech, including quad core processors, and run the size range from 7.7" to 13". Yes, 13". Not content with the current tablet sizes, Toshiba has decided to differentiate themselves with a larger tablet experience for Android fans. That's not to say they weren't different before. The Thrive had some pretty stand-out features over other tablets when it launched last year, including a full-size SD slot and a back cover that could be swapped for other colors. This latest crop of tablets comes with all the port options that made their previous tablets a success, but the new designs are much thinner and of better quality.
Another night, another flashing frenzy! Earlier today, Google pushed Android 4.0.4 (build designation IMM76D) to the AOSP repositories. RootzWiki's own birdman has spent the better part of the afternoon extracting and compiling builds for the various Nexus-class devices. If you absolutely can't wait for Google (or your carrier, for those of you on CDMA-based devices) to push the update to your phone or tablet, we've got the downloads you're looking for. While there is no official changelog for the 4.0.4 build, Google's Jean-Baptiste M.
