It’s been a little while since we’ve gotten Nexus rumor (or fact) information. We previously heard that there might be two Nexus phones this year, one 5.2” and another 5.9”, possibly named Nexus X, possibly manufactured by Motorola, and most likely awesome. The other Nexus device we’ve heard about, the Nexus 9 by HTC, has all but been confirmed. The latest Nexus news is that well-known Android developer Paul O’ Brien claims the next Nexus devices would be available in a few weeks.
O’ Brien actually gave the date of October 16th for the release of the new Nexus 9, which lines up almost perfectly with what some other sources from Android Authority had previously said, namely October 15th or 16th. The sources also said that the next Nexus phone(s) would be released at the same time, but the full release of Android L wouldn’t be available to download until later.
The sources say that even though the Nexus devices would be unveiled in mid-October, Android L wouldn’t be released until November 1st. This likely means that new devices would come shipped with L, while your Nexus 5, 7, and whatever else won’t be able to update until at least November 1st.
Always be sure to take a
grain of salt when it comes to rumors, no matter how confident the sources and reporters are, but it looks like the unveiling is coming soon. How many of you all are waiting for the 2014 Nexus lineup?
