Nexus 7 (2013) firmware updated to fix touchscreen issues

When the new Nexus 7 was released, one of the complaints many users were having was touch sensitivity issues. If you take a look at Google’s product  forums, there’s a thread with the title “Nexus 7 (2013) erratic touchscreen & keyboard” which has many replies concerning the touch issues. The thread itself dates back to July 30th, so as you might imagine, the thread has grown.

On August 21st, the thread received a comment from Googler Paul Wilcox mentioning that an update was being pushed out for the touch problems.

From Paul Wilcox’s comment:

As a couple of you have mentioned, there’s a new system update that’s started rolling out for your Nexus 7s. This update does address the touchscreen issues discussed in this thread. If you’re one of the people experiencing touchscreen issues, please let us know how it’s going after you’ve received and installed the update.

I’m one of the lucky ones who hasn’t ran into this problem on my Nexus 7 (2013) but for those that have, keep an eye out for the update (many of you probably have it already). Paul does ask that you let them know if the update fixes the issues for you.
