Wednesday morning (PST), Google and Motorola finally took the lid off of the Nexus 6. The Nexus 6 is the newest addition to the Nexus family, coming in at – you guessed it- six inches. The Nexus 6 is the first Nexus to be designed by Motorola. It features front-facing stereo speakers, a 6-inch Quad HD (2560×1440 pixels) AMOLED screen and a 13-megapixel rear camera. Motorola has packed a 3220 mAh battery into this phablet, so the battery will probably last you through your day. Motorola’s newest trend is making it easier and faster to charge, so they’re also including Turbo Charger capability. The Turbo Charger gives you an additional six hours of usage with a small fifteen-minute charge.
The 13-megapixel rear camera also features optical image stabilization, so you’ll be able to get better shots without the shakiness. The camera will also have an HDR+ mode to make sure you get great-looking HD photos. The Nexus 6 will also sport a 2-megapixel front facing camera. Internally, it’ll be running a Snapdragon 805 Quad-Core Processor clocked in at 2.7 GHz. Pricing starts at $649 for the 32GB model. Google hasn’t stated how much the 64GB model will run you. The Nexus 6 will be available in Midnight Blue or Cloud White.
The Nexus 6 will be available one of three ways. You can get it unlocked through the Play Store, from your carrier on a two-year contract or installment billing, or in Best Buy. It looks like the Nexus 6 will be available through the main carriers – Verizon (!!!), AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and US Cellular. The Nexus 6 should be in stores November 3rd.
