We've seen it before with the Moto 360, announced at Google I/O in late June, but delayed for months after the conference ended. It appeared as if Motorola might have lost its window of opportunity when the LG G Watch R joined the 360 in the round Android Wear watch club. However, the Moto 360 became available in early September and we're still waiting for LG's circular watch to hit the market. Nevertheless, LG launched a microsite dedicated to telling you everything you want to know about the G Watch R - except for when it will be available to purchase.

The site aims to tell you everything you can do with the G Watch R whether you're in an urban setting ("OK Google", navigation, note-taking, etc.) or outdoors (health monitoring features, weather display, traveling information including reservations, etc.). You can also see a gallery of some of the watchfaces available out of the box and a "3D VR" view which lets you rotate a 3D image of the watch and see it from any angle. You can view promotional videos of the watch such as the one below and view the specs.

As for the device itself, a small "where to buy" dialog near the bottom-right corner of the page says it's "coming soon". It'll be interesting to see how well the G Watch R sells now that the Moto 360 has been out some 6 weeks. Given the approaching holiday season and the trend towards round smartwatches, I suspect both watches will sell rather well.
