CyanogenMod 9 Goes RC With Several Devices

Cyanogenmod, the behemoth of the ROM community and a cornerstone within the Android community as a whole has released its first release candidate for many of their devices. Thousands, including myself, have been downloading the nightly updates and have been using that as their daily driver since the AOSP release of Ice Cream Sandwich code late last year. Here is an abbreviated list of the devices that can enjoy the RC love now with more surely to come:

Sony XperiaRay-ST18i
Galaxy Nexus (Verizon)
Galaxy Nexus (GSM)

This release does also comes in the shadow of Google’s soon announcement of the next version of Android, Jellybean. It looks like there will be no rest in our quest to have the latest and greatest software on our Android devices. At least for the foreseeable future, Ice Cream Sandwich is accessible to dozens of devices thanks to the Cyanogenmod team.

Do remember to make a back up and remember that no one here or at Cyanogenmod is responsible for installing any of these ROMS but yourself. Happy flashing and feel free to discuss your thoughts on CM 9 going Release Candidate in the comments.]]>
