Saturday's Big Question: What is the One App You Couldn't Live Without?

New apps? I want one!
Much ado was made yesterday in the iOS world when news came out Google Maps would be coming back to the iPhone and iPad. "Hooray!" Said a bunch of Australians stuck in the Outback. Then the bomb dropped that Facebook had delivered version 2.0 of its client to Google Play. Apparently written by the hand of God in native code instead of in HTML5, this is the Facebook app to rule all others (disclaimer: I don't have a Facebook account, so I can't vouch for any of this, hence the sarcasm). Even Twitter and Instagram got into the game by starting a war that isn't a war on photographic social media.

What's important to you?
No doubt, Facebook, Google Maps, Twitter, and Instagram are very important apps to many, many users. Which got me thinking. What is the most important app? Obviously the answer to this question will be different for everyone, but that's the point. What is the one app that if it were taken out of the Play Store or made unusable with a certain ROM or version of Android, would affect you the most?

My take?
The app that I would have a hard time replacing is Google Voice. Yes there are alternatives like Talkatone, but they don't work nearly as fluidly nor are as aesthetically pleasing as Google's Voice app. Since I use my Google Voice number as my primary phone number and have my work and personal line forwarded to Google Voice, I am SOL whenever it goes down. Because I don't have a texting plan with my carrier, I also depend upon the Voice app for all my of texts. Needless to say, whenever the app is incompatible with a new ROM or Android version (I'm looking at you MIUI 2.12.7), that's a deal-breaker.

Your turn
In the comments below, tell us what app is most important to your device's usability, and let us in on why the particular app is so important to you. Hopefully a few of us can learn a functionality that we didn't already know, or get reacquainted with an application that we haven't used in a while.

Hit us up, and Happy Friday Saturday!
