BreakDroid: Auto Root and ADB Installer for Mac

Everyone loves a good auto-root tool, but the pickings for Mac tools are rather slim, with the majority of them (unsurprisingly) being developed for Windows or Linux. BreakDroid is a new Mac utility from Northmendo which uses previously established root methods to automatically root several devices, and also install the Android SDK, and configure ADB on your machine. While it's still a work in progress, the developer has noted that it is proven to work on at least 4 devices:
  • Kindle Fire
  • Droid Razr (and should work on all Motorola Droid devices)
  • Galaxy Nexus
  • Galaxy Note
As the project grows, however, he will add as many devices as he can to the list. One of the exploits used is zergRush, though, so the following devices should also be compatible, though they have not been tested.
  • Sony Xperia Arc (.42 firmware)
  • Sony Xperia Arc S
  • Sony Xperia Play [R800i/R800x]
  • Sony Xperia Ray
  • Sony Xperia Neo
  • Sony Xperia Mini
  • Sony Xperia Mini Pro

  • Samsung Galaxy S2 [GT-9100/GT-9100P]
