No matter what evil locks they put on Motorola devices, it seems that someone will always find some way around it. Once again, this has been proven true by DroidRZR.com developer djrbliss. Djrbliss has successfully rooted the Droid RAZR and Droid RAZR MAXX running Android 4.1, which has been on these devices since Christmas.

A Handful of New Motorola Devices Get Root

Oct 17 2012 09:40 PM | BearDroid in Root

As I've said time and time again, one of my favorite things about Android is root access. With root, you can do all kinds of great things that weren't possible without root. Really, nothing warms my heart like seeing a bunch of phones get root access, and my heart warmed this morning when I read that a whole slew of Motorola phones got root access from Djrbliss.

The Galaxy Note 2 Has Been Rooted Pre-release

Sep 26 2012 07:30 PM | BearDroid in Root

Do you know what is awesome about Android? Rooting. Do you know what's even more awesome than rooting? Having the device you are currently drooling over already rooted before it is even released. It seems like this is the case with the AT&T version of the Galaxy Note 2.

The Brave New World of Root Checkers

Aug 28 2012 05:25 PM | mikelewis in Root

I try not to take for granted the luxury I have chosen by owning Nexus devices over the past few years. I can unlock my boot loader and root my phone with very little resistance from the carrier or the OEM. For others, there always seems to be something that wants to make the experience more difficult or annoying. Case in point: Motorola's ICS release for the Droid RAZR Maxx and Droid 4 now identify whether or not you've ever rooted your phone - even if you've flashed back to pure, unrooted stock.

ROM Manager updated to unhide your media files

Aug 16 2012 06:30 PM | skynet11 in Root

Imagine you have your phone set to a custom ringtone you have stored on your SD card, and you miss a call for an important meeting or interview or whatever else because your phone didn't ring. You then go to your settings and discover that all your ringtones are gone! You had just flashed a new ROM, so your first instinct might be to post an excited and/or panicky comment on that ROM's thread, but you might not be aware of the true source of this issue: yesterday's 5.0.1.3 update to ROM Manager.

Chainfire's CF-Root Now Available For Galaxy S3

Jun 06 2012 08:40 PM | swrogers in Root

Just because the Samsung Galaxy S3 isn’t available quite yet here in the States doesn’t mean that there aren’t already a number of talented developers working away on the tools that we’ll all be using for this device soon. We already knew that the SGS3 was easily rootable before it was even released - we can thank Samsung for at least being somewhat developer friendly, if not for releasing timely updates for their existing lineup - so it comes as no major surprise that the one and only Chainfire has released his CF-Root for the Galaxy S3.
