May 20 2013 08:10 AM | skynet11 in Leaks

In a previous article we posted a rumor that originated on a Facebook page dedicated to Galaxy Note 2 enthusiasts claiming that the Galaxy S3 and the Note 2 would receive Android 4.2 Jelly Bean by the end of May. Coincidentally (or not), it turns out that a leaked test build of Android 4.2.2-based TouchWiz is available today on Samsung enthusiast site SamMobile.

Sense 5.1 with Android 4.2.2 system dump leaked for the HTC Butterfly: Ports Inbound?

May 08 2013 08:10 PM | Kidromulous in Leaks

HTC has a fairly poor track record for timely Android updates and leaving a few of their handsets stranded has done nothing for its rapport with the community. Lately, though it seems that HTC is renewing its promise to keep its devices up to date and in a timely fashion. For example, there is already an update to the One in the queue right now that will give Stateside HTC One owners improved camera, audio, battery life, and performance. Perhaps another early sign of this renewed committment is a system dump that was recently leaked: Sense 5.1 and Android 4.2.2 for the HTC Butterfly (the international counterpart to the Droid DNA).

Mystery Motorola phone leaked with stock Android (?), sans X-factor

Mar 13 2013 04:35 PM | skynet11 in Leaks

A new leak has sprung on Vietnamese site Tinhte.vn, revealing a new mystery phone from Motorola which indicates that Google has truly begun influencing the design and software on the formerly Blur-happy company's handsets. This is apparently not the highly-anticipated but unconfirmed X phone, but is a mid-range beast with a 4-inch, 720p AMOLED display and a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor.

Motorola Atrix Gets ICS Leak

Oct 10 2012 06:15 PM | BearDroid in Leaks

Yesterday morning, a build for ICS on the Motorola Atrix 4G was leaked on XDA. This comes as exciting news because last month, Motorola changed their status on the update for the Atrix from "Q3 2012" to "Will remain on Gingerbread (Android 2.3)." This saddened and enraged many owners of the device, and rightfully so. The device wasn't even a year old when Ice Cream Sandwich launched. Now, Atrix owners can flash this leak and get a taste of what is hopefully coming.

Galaxy Nexus Will Be the First Android Phone Running Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean)

Jun 22 2012 08:10 PM | DoctorZaius68 in Leaks

According to a recent posting on DroidLife.com, the Google Play Store jumped the gun on announcing Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). The reference was quickly removed by Google, but not before the writer was able to get a screen shot. It has been anticipated that Jelly Bean would be Android 4.1 instead of Android 5.0.

Verizon Screen Shot Leak Shows HTC Thunderbolt Scheduled to Receive Update on May 10th

Apr 27 2012 06:00 PM | DoctorZaius68 in Leaks

According to leaked screen shots published on Droid Life, HTC Thunderbolt Owners are slated to get a software update on May 10th. Unfortunately, for Thunderbolt owners, this update was not listed with the leaked screen shots which show the Android devices which are receiving an Android 4.0 – Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) update. This probably means that this update is a final version of the Gingerbread maintenance update, which was leaked last week on Android Police.

The original Boy Genius, Jonathan Geller, has reported a leaked Summer/Fall 2012 roadmap for Verizon smartphones, and, according to him, the Samsung Galaxy S3 is included among them. What other phones await Verizon customers in the coming months? Will they be worth waiting for if you’re currently eligible for an upgrade? Does this roadmap harmonize with other reports of upcoming Verizon phones?

Samsung Unpacked App Suggests Galaxy S3 Name, Tipster Suggests Possible Ceramic Back, Preorders Abound in Germany

Apr 24 2012 04:55 PM | skynet11 in Leaks

As the official unveiling of “the next Galaxy” draws near, the pace of leaks has kicked into overdrive. The official Samsung Unpacked app, now available at the Google Play Store, contains keywords in its description that indicate that the name of “the next Galaxy” is the Galaxy S3, and a tipster has published a photo that might indicate that the back of the Galaxy S3 will be ceramic. Also, “Galaxy S3” preorders have flooded Amazon’s German site (remember that preorder page that went live last week?).

Yet Another Galaxy S III Update (Update: Leaked Benchmark Added)

Apr 23 2012 02:50 PM | skynet11 in Leaks

We promised to keep you up to date on the latest (somewhat credible) developments on the Samsung Galaxy S III as they come, and a trio of new items have come this morning. First, an accessory company has already made a pair of Galaxy S III accessories available. Second, a graphics benchmark test allegedly shows the Galaxy S III beating the competition, including the international version of the HTC One X with the quad-core Tegra 3 chip. Last, but definitely least, Samsung has released a teaser video on its thenextgalaxy.com site. What do these new leaks reveal?

Will the "Next Galaxy" be the Galaxy SII...S?

Apr 17 2012 04:35 PM | skynet11 in Leaks

New indications have come to light among some respected tech blogs that the phone Samsung is unveiling on May 3rd will be merely an “incremental upgrade” to the Galaxy SII. Furthermore, the “Next Galaxy” might not be called the Galaxy SIII. With the number of conflicting reports that have come out that now put into question the forward-looking nature of this phone, we have to ask a pretty unhappy question: What other features might actually be available on this new smartphone?
