ZTE N880E to be the first non-Nexus Jelly Bean device

We were wondering which OEM would be the first to update their device(s) to Jelly Bean and it looks like we finally have an answer!

ZTE is releasing the first non-Nexus device to run Jelly Bean, and a mid-range device at that. The ZTE N880E originally launched in May 2012 running Gingerbread but jumped to the ranks of Jellybean 4.1.1 on July 13. "Big Boys" (Moto, HTC, Samsung, Sony) take notice - you've got smaller OEMs on your heels giving customers what they expect. It's time for you to start delivering too.

It is nice to see mid-range device being released with Jelly Bean; It gives me hope to see others follow suit. ZTE stated that they have a close relationship with Google, helping to make this quick release possible. I hope that these good relationships with OEMs will bring faster updates for our devices on this side of the Pacific.
