I have been an Android fan since I first purchased an LG Ally. While not the most powerful Android, I quickly found out that by rooting and flashing custom ROMs and kernels, the LG Ally could be pushed to the limits and made to be the quick little phone it should always have been.

It was through the Ally community, that I started beta testing ROMS for Punisher/Frunisher ROM Development Team.

I am currently an HTC Thunderbolt owner.

Prior to joining the RootzWiki News Team, I worked as a Writer/Reviewer for AndroidActivist.org.

Unofficial ClockworkMOD released for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1

Good news for owners of the Galaxy Note 10.1, RootzWiki member Zedomax has brought ClockworkMod (CWM) to this device. Having a working version of CWM, or any other recovery for that matter, is a crucial step towards ROM development. This is an unofficial version of CWM, but since when has the word "unofficial" stopped the enthusiast community from getting its flash on?

Zedomax’s “High on Android” is a working version of 6.0.1.1 CWM Touch. The recovery works for both the 3G and Wifi only Galaxy Note 10.1 models. Galaxy Note 10.1 users can flash CWM via Odin or Heimdall.

Samsung’s latest foray into the tablet market, the Galaxy Note 10.1, was recent released as a feature rich device. The Galaxy Note 10.1 is currently running Android 4.0x (Ice Cream Sandwich) with Touch-Wiz and Samsung has indicated that the device will receive and update to Android 4.1x (Jelly Bean). The cost of the Galaxy Note 10.1 starts at around $500, for the 16GB WiFi model, with cost increasing for the 32GB model.

We are certainly looking forward to seeing some incredible ROMS developed for the Galaxy Note 10.1. Hopefully the RootzWiki Galaxy Note forums will be lighting up real soon with Custom ROMs and Jelly Bean leaks/ports for the Note 10.1. I for one am looking forward to seeing developers jump on board and get really creative with this interesting device.

Are you planning to purchase or do you currently own a Galaxy Note 10.1? Are you a developer or an aspiring developer looking to create custom ROMS for this device? We would like to hear your thoughts on the future development of the Galaxy Note 10.1 – please leave a comment in the comment section below.
