Official Nexus 7 Dock Available For Purchase

Rest may be coming to those of us weary Nexus owners who have been waiting (not so) patiently for an official dock. No longer will we have to rely on walls, plate holders, book stacks, or speakers to prop up our popular 7 inch tablet. The official Asus dock is finally available. For real. No, we're not kidding.

The official Nexus 7 dock is (at the time of this article's publishing) only being sold through online retailer EXcaliberPC and lists at $49. The long-awaited dock is not only showing as currently In Stock, but also on sale for $39. EXcaliberPC's product page describes the dock as being top notch, including a stereo output, micro USB enabled charging, and more.

This dock is tailor-made for Nexus 7. With an attractive design that combines polished glass on the outside and durable-grip rubber on the inside, it simplifies charging via micro USB while you're using the tablet. A dedicated 3.5mm jack permits stereo output through speakers. The entire stand has been built to ensure a comfortable viewing angle for movies, web browsing, social networking, and other typical uses.

At the time of posting, I went to the website (screen shot shown) and the dock is showing available. I know I have been waiting for this dock since the day I purchased my Nexus 7. At $40, plus $10 shipping (for me), it's still steep for such a simple piece of hardware. I have found, however, the self-standing cases to be lacking.

Is anyone going out to purchase theirs as well, or has that ship sailed in favor of newer devices or standing cases? Share your thoughts or enthusiasm with us in the comments.
