Asus Transformer Prime Receives OTA Update: Brings Face Unlock, Bug Fixs, & More

Asus UK has announced that starting yesterday afternoon the Asus Transformer Prime will be receiving a small update via their Facebook Page. This update brings bug fixes, added features, and more (see entire list below). The incremental update version is called v9.4.2.28. Asus is on top of their game when it comes to updating their devices.

If you are looking to update your rooted Asus Transformer Prime do know that you will lose root access. Don't panic, a process has been confirmed to re-root your device. Help to re-root Transformer Prime after update can be found HERE.

Manually Check for Update:
  • Head into Settings
  • About tablet
  • System Firmware Update
  • Check update.

Update Brings:
  • GPS dongle fix & local notification
  • Ethernet UI support to set Ethernet connect policy when screen off
  • Add system bar lock settings for showing/hiding system info
  • Enable Face Unlock feature
  • Support Bluetooth HDP
  • Third party app upgrade
  • Other bug fixes
