CyanogenMod 9 on HP Touchpad Preview

Dalingrin and his team have released the first preview of the progress they've made on the Ice Cream Sandwich version of CyanogenMod. The only remaining issues are the camera (which never worked in Gingerbread) and video playback. The work is described as "well on it’s way' with the classic CyanogenMod timeline of "soon".

As you can see everything is running very smoothly and looks to deliver a full Android 4.0 experience on everybody's favourite budget tablet. With the Nook Colour enjoying it's released ICS, it's becoming increasingly obvious these developers have some serious talent.

It also begs the question: How can the community update devices designed to run other OSs before the official manufacturers even decide if it's possible for their Android devices?

To keep up-to-date on developments while you wait, why not join the discussion in our Touchpad forum?
